What did the Romans do for entertainment?

The ancient Romans had many different ways of entertainment for the rich and the poor. Plays were often preformed in large open theaters, there were lots of different theater in ancient Rome even the smallest theaters could fit 7000 seats. There were also many other ways for the Romans to entertain themselves, Often the richer Romans would have dinner party's while a lot of the poorer Romans went to bed before it got to dark or else they would be burning oil lamps. Although a lot of the events were free which would mean that nearly everyone would be able to attend. Another big way that the Romans used to entertain themselves was by going and watching the gladiators fights in the arenas which was free which made it enjoyable for everyone.
