What they ate? When they ate? Where they ate? How they ate?
Most of the Romans did not eat a lot throughout the day. For breakfast they only really drank water and ate a little bit of bread. The Romans didn't eat too much at midday either, they would just have a small snack of bread, cheese or fruit. The Romans main meal would be eaten at around 4 pm. The rich people would be served this meal with three separate courses and this meal could last up to three hours. unlike the rich people the poor people would eat a lot more basic food like soups made with lentils and onions, barley porridge, peas, cabbage and tough, cheap cuts of meat stewed in vinegar and on very special occasions they might have wine mixed with water. On specials occasions the richer Romans would eat lying down, they had long couches set out around the table for the men and women to lie on. They also often would wear crowns of flowers when they were eating and they took their sandals before they went into the dining room, The number that was most ideal for their dinner party's was nine guests but lots of people often had more than that.
